PC a internet Velikost Information Store databáze v MS Exchange

Microsoft Exchange 2003 před SP2 měl maximální velikost Information Store databáze 15 resp. 16 GB. Při 15 GB se store zastavil a umožnil tak administrátorovi, aby si store spustil a učinil opatření, ke snížení velikosti. Pokud potom store překročil velikost 16 GB, zastavil se a již nešel spustit.

S aplikováním Service Packu 2 na MS Exchange 2003 se zvětšila maximální velikost databáze na 75 GB. Ovšem není to úplně samo, tuto velikost je třeba nastavit v registry. Standardně je po aplikaci SP2 nastavená na 18 GB.

Nastavování velikosti Information Store se provádí v registry v této větvy:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ MSExchangeIS \ SERVER NAME \ Private-013e2e46-2cd7-4a8e-bfec-0e4652b94b00

Nastavení velikosti Information Store

Vlastní velikost databáze se potom nastavuje v tomto klíči:

Database Size Limit in GB (REG_DWORD)

a může nabývat hodnot 1 - 75 u edice Standard nebo 1 - 8000 u edice Enterprice.

Nastavení rezervního bufferu

Protože po dosažení určité velikosti databáze se Exchange zastaví (vypne službu Information Store), je třeba umožnit administrátorovi store znovu spustit a zajistit jeho zmenšení. K tomu slouží tzv. rezervní buffer. Jeho velikost se nastavuje v procentech celkové povolené velikosti databáze a to v tomto klíči:

Database Size Buffer in Percentage (REG_DWORD)

a může nabývat hodnot 1 - 100. Defaultní hodnota je 10 %. Znamená to, že jakmile zbývá jen 10 % velikosti databáze, tak se Information Store zastaví, aby upozornil administrátora, že má učinit opatření. (Tedy např. zvětšit maximální povolenou velikost nebo třeba provést offline defragmentaci databáze.)

Načasování kontroly velikosti databáze

Velikost databáze se kontroluje jednou denně. Defaultně je to v 5 hodin ráno. Tento čas se dá ale také nastavit a to v tomto klíči:

Database Size Check Start Time in Hours From Midnight (REG_DWORD)

který může nabývat hodnot 1 - 24.

Shrnutí

Microsoft Exchange 2003 Standar edititon po instalaci SP2 má standardně nastavenou velikost Information Store databáze 18 GB z čehož 10% je rezervní buffer a kontrola velikosti databáze probíhá každý den v 5 hodin ráno.

Poznámka: Standardně výše popisované klíče v registry nejsou vytvořeny a pro změnu jejich hodnot je potřeba je vytvořit.
