První odnětí svobody za softwarové pirátství
Slovenské BSA se podařilo poprvé dosáhnout nepodmínečné odnětí svobody za porušování autorských práv.
Mladý muž z Žiliny v letech 1999 až 2003 provozoval počítačovou hernu, kde měl 13 počítačů, na kterých měl nelegálně software firmy Microsoft a při zadržení u něj byli objeveny další CD přepálenými programy a hrami. Celková škoda byla vyčíslena na 137 tisíc slovenských korun.
Obžalovaný byl odsouzen na 10 měsíců odnětí svobody nepodmíněně, byl mu uložen trest propadnutí věci a povinnost uhradit vzniklou škodu.
V České republice byl již před časem uložen trest 2,5 roku odnětí svobody nepodmíněně. V tomto případě se jednalo kromě porušování autorských práv ještě o neoprávněné podnikání a podvod.
Docela mě to překvapilo, protože jsem nevím proč čekal, že první ryby bude velké koncerny a společnosti, potom se teprve zaměří na malé firmičky a živnostníky a nakonec teprve přijde pouhý občan. Mám z toho opět pocit, že kdo porušuje zákon méně, bývá potrestán dříve a kdo podvádí moc, ten je tiše přehlížen.
